How To Season Your Corset
When you first receive your corset, straight out of the packaging, it may seem a little intimidating. Not to worry! We’ve got you covered. Keep reading for some tips on how to get your corset all set up and ready for wear.
Loosen Completely
Make sure that the laces for your corset are completely loose before you try to put it on. It won’t make things faster and may even end up damaging your corset in the long run. You’ll want to be sure it is loose all the way from the top to the bottom so that you can almost overlap the two pieces. This will make sure you get the proper placement when you go to lace your corset.
Not Too Tight
Don’t try to pull your corset as tight as it will go on your first day. You want to gradually tighten it in order to give the boning time to adjust to your body shape. If you pull it in too much too quickly, you may end up warping the corset and making it unwearable. You do want the corset to be snug, but not as tight as it can possibly go. Go slow and give it time.
Tighten Again After An Hour
Wear your corset for about an hour, and then try to tighten it up again. After an hour, the boning will have had a chance to settle in, and you’ll notice that it might feel looser than it did when you first put it on. After the first hour, it is ok to tighten it up again.
Get The Right Fit
Corsets that fit your body will season faster than those that don’t. It’s important to get a good fit right from the start, so be diligent when taking your measurements. Corset Deal has a lot of styles and types for you to choose from, so do your research and know what you are looking for.
