Do You Need To Re-Season Your Corset?
A properly seasoned corset will give you the fit and shape that you are looking for. A corset becomes seasoned after wearing it for a while, giving it a chance to break in and mold to the shape of your body. A seasoned corset is more comfortable than a brand new corset straight off the rack, which is why it is so important to take the time to season it in the first place. But what happens if you take a break from wearing your corset for a while? Do you need to re-season it?
Start Again
There are many reasons why you may have taken a break from wearing your corset full time. Whatever the reason, when you decide it is time to get back into wearing your corset, it is important to start from the beginning. Obviously you are not a beginner corset wearer at this point, but your body has gotten out of the habit. Give yourself some time to get back into the routine.
Go Slow
Don’t expect to just hop right back in where you left off. Your body has probably changed, and it may need a time period to readjust. The good news is, if you’ve worn a corset before, it will probably come back pretty quickly. Start off with a few hours a day and be sure to give yourself a rest. Gradually work up to wearing it all day, and you will be back on track.
Re-Seasoning
Your corset probably was molded to your previous body shape. But that’s perfectly ok! A seasoned corset is one that is already broken in, so while your body may not be the same as it was previously, your already seasoned corset will be ready for action. You should not need to go through the entire seasoning process again, but proceeding slowly will ensure that both you and your corset are ready for heavy wear once again.
Don’t feel defeated if you’ve had to take some time off. Corset wearing is a process and can be started again at any time.
